Mother accused of interfering with child custody

Judge denies bond after woman tries to escape police custody

SAN BENITO, August 27, 2004 —Dr. Elizabeth Rohr of Southlake was returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area Thursday afternoon after she allegedly kidnapped her five children Monday night and drove them to San Benito.

Rohr, 44, wearing chains on her ankles and with her hands cuffed behind her back, was denied bond after she was charged with five counts of interfering with child custody when she appeared before Municipal Judge David Garza.

Garza denied bond for the emergency room doctor based on her early morning escape attempt and alleged death threats to her children.

“According to an affidavit provided to the Dallas Morning News, Rohr’s 22-year-old son Brandon Saunders said his mother told him that she“would rather kneel the children down and shoot them in the back of the head” than let their father raise them.”
